Dalek (WIP)

I’m currently working on building a replica of the 2005 Doctor Who Dalek, using reference and plans from the Project Dalek forums. The community there offers excellent tips, resources, and guidance on replicating the look and construction techniques of the originals.

Design & Planning

• I’ve been carefully following the Project Dalek plans to ensure accuracy.
• I’m creating 3D models of several parts, designing them specifically with 3d printing in mind to make construction more precise and way easier.
• For the more complicated shapes and parts I plan on using 3d printing. For larger or more structural elements, I plan to use a mix of wood fabrication or vacuum formed parts.

Goals for the Final Build

• The Dalek will be fully remote controlled, allowing for movement and light/sound features.
• Construction will combine 3D printed components, woodwork, and vacuum formed panels for a balance of strength, weight, and authenticity.
