Workshop Upgrades

I’ve put a lot of effort into building out functional and efficient workshop spaces, both in my old shop in Washington State and my current shop in Virginia.

Washington State Shop

In my previous workshop, I focused on maximizing storage and making large material handling easier:

• French cleat tool wall — Flexible and modular storage for all my hand tools.

• Custom offcut table for my table saw — Designed to make cutting full sheets of plywood manageable and safe.

• Large cabinets — Built to create a counter along the office wall, with:

  • A sink on one side for clean-up
  • A storage and desk area on the other side for planning and assembly

Virginia Shop

In my current shop, I’ve continued to refine the workspace with new builds:

• Miter saw bench

  • Built-in compound miter saw
  • Integrated ducting for dust collection
  • T-track for clamping and accurate, repeatable cuts

• 12 ft multi-use workbench

  • Row of slotted containers along the back for organizing small components during builds
  • Full-length section at one end dedicated to 3D printers

• Laser cutter table

  • Shorter and wider table designed to support the laser cutter and associated materials
