I designed and built an electronic puzzle box powered by an Arduino as a creative way to present an engagement ring. The project also served as an example for a class I was teaching at the ACU MakerLab on design software with a lower learning curve.
Case Design I used Adobe Illustrator to create the vector files for laser cutting the box panels.
Custom Button and LED Matrix The front panel featured a custom button and LED grid:
Electronics I soldered and wired everything by hand, creating a compact setup that fit inside the laser-cut case.
The puzzle box required solving three sequential puzzles by interacting with the button and LED matrix. Once solved, the Arduino triggered the back panel to release, revealing the ring hidden inside
